Argylle release date: When is Henry Cavill's meta-spy adventure hitting theaters and streaming services?

We sincerely hope Cavill's flattop haircut gets its own acting credit.

Deep down, every writer loves to imagine themselves at the center of their own plots, putting just a bit of themselves into their characters. What happens when a renowned spy-thriller author finds themselves wrapped up in their own over-the-top story? You get the upcoming plot to the upcoming action-comedy film, Argylle.

With a star-studded cast led by Henry Cavill (and his impressively vertical flattop), Bryan Cranston, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Sam Rockwell, Argylle looks like it will be a delightfully meta spy adventure from Matthew Vaughn, who directed the Kingsmen series. It has the potential to be one of the first big hits of 2024 when it lands in theaters on February 2, 2024.

Argylle follows author Elly Conway as she finds herself embroiled in a spy adventure straight out of her best-selling books. The movie is based on a book of the same name by an author of the same name that came out earlier this month. Interestingly, there are substantial questions about who the author of that book really is, which has only fuelled the meta-fictional feel to the movie.

Regardless of who Elly Conway is, we’re excited to see how the film version of Argylle plays out when it is released in theaters on February 2, 2024, before appearing on Apple TV+ at an undisclosed date in the future. The action scenes in the trailer are as beautifully stylized as we expect from Vaughn, plus the tongue-in-cheek humor looks like it will play to the entire cast’s strengths.
