Dan Mora is arguably the most popular artist in modern superhero comics. And he's one of the quickest.
For the past couple years, Mora has under-the-radar been drawing two ongoing books simultaneously - and as he has moved on to bigger and bigger books, he hasn't slowed down - the the point it became a running joke in DC's Absolute Power panel here at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2024.
Mark Waid, who has been Mora's primary writer for years now between Shazam!, World's Finest, and the current Absolute Power, says he's "never letting" Mora go.
"The best part of my day is waking up, and there's always two pages of layout waiting for me," says Waid.
Waid, a former editor, also attests that Mora can indeed draw two books a month without problem.
Minutes later however, Josh Williamson joked that Waid would have to share as Mora is also joining the writer on on the ongoing Superman series. Waid seemingly one-upped his fellow DC writer, with the announcement that Mora is also drawing a new Justice League Unlimited series, which Waid is writing.
How does Dan Mora do it? While the artist wasn't there, he is known to have an incredible work ethic - and is known to look up to seminal Spider-Man artist Mark Bagley, who is also known to be able to work as fast as well.
