Star Wars brings back fan-favorite Jedi Kit Fisto in new Hyperspace Stories comics this summer

Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories - Tides of Terror will pit Kit Fisto against threats from under the seas in the four-part kid-friendly comic book series

Throughout the vast Star Wars canon, fans have seen Jedi Knights deal with all manner of threats to their own safety, or peace to the larger galaxy — evil Sith Lords, despotic rulers hellbent on fascistic control of everything around them, and no shortage of low-level criminals out to take advantage of those less fortunate than themselves. In the latest installment of Dark Horse Comics’ fan-favorite Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories, however, it’s finally time to bring a Jedi face-to-face with a giant underwater monster to see what happens next.

Launching this summer, Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories — Tides of Terror brings together acclaimed Star Wars writer George Mann, artists Luis Morocco and Le Beau Underwood, colorist Michael Atiyeh and letterers Comicraft with one important purpose: bring beloved Jedi Kit Fisto into an underseas world of adventure, intrigue and, yes… monsters. The new series follows up on the popular Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories - The Bad Batch: Ghost Agents, as well as the upcoming Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories — Codebreaker series.

Here’s how Dark Horse describes the new title: “Jedi Master Kit Fisto has been sent to the ocean planet Tordus, alongside Mace Windu and Shaak Ti, to investigate a controversial underwater research facility. The facility is in danger of flooding and being crushed into rubble, and if that’s not enough, there are giant monsters circling them. With disaster looming, his diplomatic excursion quickly becomes a rescue mission! Kit Fisto and his fellow Jedi must race against the clock to save innocent lives from the hungry leviathans that fill the depths. This standalone story is full of murky intrigue and ancient abyssal nightmares. Can the Jedi fend off the danger lurking in the ocean's briny waters?”

Lucasfilm creative director Michael Siglain said about the series, “Following the success of The Bad Batch: Ghost Agents, we’re thrilled to see Dark Horse continue with their next Hyperspace Stories mini-series. Tides of Terror is part disaster story, part horror story, and all fun. It’s a race-against-time adventure in which the Jedi will face off against saboteurs and the sea creatures, and readers will learn to beware what lurks in the deep, dark ocean world of Tordus.”

The first issue of the four-issue series will drop July 16.
