It's a new era for the Fantastic Four. As hype builds for their MCU debut with The Fantastic Four: First Steps in theaters this July, Marvel Comics is piggybacking off this moment for the team by relaunching their ongoing series one more time. Given the plot of the first arc in this new Fantastic Four series, it looks like Marvel is looking to foster some good ol' brand synergy.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the Fantastic Four series at Marvel Comics will relaunch with a new #1 in July. Don't worry if you've been a fan of Ryan North's run on the series thus far, because North is returning to write this new series after his and Cory Smith's run wraps up with issue #33 in June. For Fantastic Four #1, North will be joined by artist Humberto Ramos, known for his work on series like The Spectacular Spider-Man and Nick Spencer's run on The Amazing Spider-Man. Take a gander at this new era for the FF below.

The opening arc for the new Fantastic Four series will take them back in time to various periods in Earth's history. In order to get back to their correct time period, the group will have to find the Forever Stone in each era. And before you start wondering what that could look like, North confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that Ben Grimm will be fighting a dinosaur. It's also worth noting that this relaunch is happening in the middle of the One World Under Doom event, so I wish all of my fellow comic book collectors luck while trying to organize your collection of single issues in the future.

If you've been staying up with the FF recently, you might also notice the elephant in the room in Ramos's art: Ben Grimm is back as The Thing. Literally just this week, in One World Under Doom #2 by Ryan North and R.B. Silva, the titular Doctor Doom turns The Thing back into human form as Ben Grimm "forever." I mean sure, this isn't the first time The Thing has gone back to being regular degular shmegular Benji from the Lower East Side, but this transformation has happened enough times over the past 64 years that it feels rather, well, tired. We all love the guy to death regardless of whether he's a big rock monster or a normal dude, but Marvel, please pick a struggle for him, please.
