Expect 800 characters a page in Justice League Unlimited #8, teases writer Mark Waid. (We're unsure if he's joking or not.)

On the 20-year anniversary of the Justice League Unlimited cartoon, DC Comics finally brought this plus-sized variation of the Justice League into comics with the November 2024 launch of the ongoing Justice League Unlimited series. This summer, series creators Mark Waid and Dan Mora are finally going to really push the 'unlimited' part of things in the finale of the upcoming 'We Are Yesterday' crossover event.

Speaking with Popverse's Pierce Lydon about the upcoming 'We Are Yesterday' crossover event between Justice League Unlimited and DC's Batman/Superman: World's Finest comic book series, Waid talks about the paradoxes of time travel and drops a little nugget that has gotten our neurons firing ever since he said it.
"...there is a point about the end of act two where because of this, the Justice League truly becomes unlimited for the first time, truly unlimited," says Waid.
We got Waid to nail it down to May 28's Justice League #7 drawn by guest artist Travis Moore as where "it really does become unlimited at that point." Then, in the event finale of June 25's Justice League Unlimited #8, series co-creator Dan Mora "finishes it off with the last chapter drawing 800 characters a page," Waid teases. "It's going to be something to see."
You can read Waid's full interview about Justice League Unlimited, 'We Are Yesterday,' and the upcoming New History of the DC Universe here. The 'We Are Yesterday' event begins April 16 with Batman/Superman: World's Finest #38.
