The world of giant monsters terrorizing the planet is about to get a little bit smaller as the Kaiju No. 8 spinoff manga is coming to an end this month. After just 12 chapters, Kaiju No. 8: B-Side will publish its final chapter on July 12, 2024, just a few weeks after the first season of the anime finished airing.
Kentaro Hidano and Keiji Ando launched Kaiju No. 8: B-Side in January 2024 to serve as a spinoff from the main manga written and drawn by Naoya Matsumoto. It is described as “Front-line stories of the Defense Force not covered in the main series,” showing us how the men and women of the Defense Force take down the monsters that threaten the country when they aren’t being horribly outclassed by the likes of Kaiju No. 9 and the other Special Class monsters.
If you enjoyed the first season of Kaiju No. 8 as much as we did and are craving more but don’t want to risk being spoiled for the upcoming second season, then it is worth checking out Kaiju No. 8: B-Side now that it has finished its short run. It fleshes out some of the characters and the world we see in the anime but doesn’t touch on any of the important plot points that might spoil future episodes. Each chapter is currently available on the Shonen Jump app.
Kaiju No. 8: B-Side, the spinoff manga to Kaiju No. 8, will publish its 12th and final chapter on July 12, 2024.
