DC is reviving Legion of Super-Heroes "soon" says DC architect (and former writer) Mark Waid (no, not the Omega Legion)
Mark Waid promises a Legion of Super-Heroes "everyone will embrace" real soon from DC Comics

The Legion of Super-Heroes as we know it has been gone from the pages of DC Comics for some time, but longtime fan (and former writer) Mark Waid says a version of the team we'll all "embrace" is on their way back to us.
Popverse's Jules Chin Greene was on hand at DC Comics' official Superman panel at WonderCon 2025, giving play-by-play for our members as the event went on. If you missed it, Waid - who is one of DC's key writers these days - says that the Legion of Superheroes will return "soon," and says despite all the different versions of the team that have existed over the years, the one DC has chosen to use is one he's "confident everyone will embrace" no matter when they first got into the group.
Mark would know, as he wrote the team's book from 2004 to 2007, and has said that the 1968 LoSH story in Adventure Comics #369 and #370 is "a blueprint for everything I write."
For those reading DC Comics these days, we're still reeling a bit from the evil-looking alt-reality Omega Legion introduced in October 2024's DC All In Special #1 as working with the always-evil Darkseid, and recently retuned in February's Superman #23.
But they can't be Waid's Legion that we'd all "embrace"... right?
The closest thing to a classic version of the Legion was last seen in a major way inside DC Comics' main continuity back in 2022 with Justice League vs. Legion of Super-Heroes, the culmination of a three-year run with the characters by writer Brian Michael Bendis. A different version of the team was shown briefly the truncated end of Geoff Johns' Justice Society of America series in 2024.
Superman #23's return of the evil Omega Legion ended with "to be continued this summer," and DC's next big book is May 3's DC All In/Absolute Universe 2025 FCBD Special Edition for Free Comic Book Day, so perhaps that's where we'll see what's next.
