Doctor Doom is making his own team of Avengers for Marvel's Superior Avengers series
Who are the next generation of Earth's Mightiest Heroes? Well, they bear some similarity to (and the same names as) some of Marvel's worst villains

Doctor Doom is about to take over Marvel’s comic book universe, and to mark the occasion, he’s doing the same thing that every single Marvel fan would in the same situation: he’s making his own Avengers team out of his favorites. Except that, of course, this is Doctor Doom we’re talking about, so his Avengers… well, kind of look like bad guys.
Launching in April, the six-issue Superior Avengers comic book series will introduce a new team of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes that seems to be filled with some of Earth’s Mightiest Villains… or, at least, costumed characters boasting some very familiar names, like Abomination, Doctor Octopus, Killmonger, Ghost, Onslaught, and Malekith. But are these the same villains who usually go by these names, or someone else entirely? For now, Marvel’s playing it cool, but writer Steve Foxe isn’t quite so coy.
“Introducing any new character to the Marvel Universe—let alone an entire cast of them—is both an honor and no small terror, so when editor Wil Moss reached out about developing an intense, secretive team of Avengers for ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM, I knew I had to swing for the fences,” Foxe said in a statement shared by Marvel. “The Avengers that readers are going to meet here may have familiar names, but you’ll quickly come to learn why they consider themselves superior to other teams.”
The series will be illustrated by Luca Maresca, fresh from finishing Venom War: Lethal Protectors. In his own statement, Maresca said that he’s excited to “peel back [the new characters’] layers, deepening them and baring their soul,” promising “Readers are in for some big surprises!” You can see his designs for the main characters in the series below, and use them as clues for just who these new Avengers really are.
