All the introverted humor (and cats) of the Sarah's Scribbles comic is now available as a game

Your favorite comic to read on your phone, Sarah's Scribbles, has a surprise game out right now.

Sarah's Scribbles is probably one of the most-read comics in modern times - sorry, Batman. That said, it's not always being read in the conventional places people of the past have read comics, such as in a newspaper or even in a comic book - instead, Sarah's Scribbles is primarily read on social media. Sarah Andersen's hit comic series has been collected in best-selling printed collections, sure, but it's on social media - much in the same way we all are. And now, there's a new way to enjoy Sarah's Scribbles in a way that also hits on what we do now.

Cartoonist Sarah Anderson has partnered with An Infinite Story Inc. on a novel interactive 'hidden art' game that debuts today online. The game is called Sarah Andersen Comics “After Owning a Cat,” in partnership with An Infinite Story (or After Owning a Cat, for short), and from my early playing the story of Sarah's Scribbles is all there but now gamified in a unique collaboration with artist Bobby Chiu that results in the strip's messy-haired hero (yeah, I called her that!) looking to seek and discover every cat hiding in layers of custom art and narrative. And in it is nestled like a nougat center the self-deprecating humor the original strip is beloved for.

"When I was approached by Bobby Chiu and An Infinite Story about this potential collaboration I was immediately inspired by the innovation and creativity of this platform, which would allow me to present my art in a new way but retain its original aesthetic and style," Andersen says in the announcement of the game. "It is exciting to share Sarah’s Scribbles with my fans in this completely new, gamified experience and I expect this infinite story concept will draw them in and captivate their attention just as it did me."

The game is available now at at this link.
