When a black metal band kills a metalhead, she comes back for revenge in The Creeping Below

If The Crow remake left a bad taste in your mouth, prepare for the brutally beautiful female-led revenge thriller The Creeping Below

Were you left a little underwhelmed with the recent The Crow remake? Then let us tell you about the upcoming comic series The Creeping Below. 100 Bullets co-creator Brian Azzarello has partnered with Witcher artist Vanesa Del Rey on an original horror-tinged female-led revenge thriller with one foot in black metal and the other in Norse mythology.

"When Val, an American metalhead attending a music festival abroad in Oslo, is victimized and killed at the hands of a charismatically evil local black metal band, the Old Gods of Norse Mythology raise her up and guide her along the path of brutal vengeance in the name of women everywhere," reads BOOM! Studios' description of the series. "But will she walk the warrior's path, or become something far more terrible?"

The Creeping Below is colored by Hilary Jenkins and lettered by AndWorld Design. Here is a preview of The Creeping Below #1:

Del Rey has drawn the main cover to The Creeping Below #1, with variants illustrated by Maria Llovet, Mike Deodato Jr., and Jae Lee/June Chung. You can check those out here:
