Young Avengers assemble! It’s been over a decade since the last Young Avengers comic ended its run, but the group might be getting ready to make a comeback. Speaking to a crowd at Osaka Comic Con, Marvel Comics editor-in-chief C.B. Cebulski revealed that the group will be returning to the Marvel Universe.
“I can break some special news here,” Cebulski teased. “The Young Avengers will be reuniting in 2025 in Marvel Comics. There have been two Young Avengers teams, but now we’re deciding which characters for natural story reasons are going to join the new Young Avengers team. Kate-Hawkeye, Patriot, Hulkling, Wiccan…who is going to join? You’ll see [in] 2025!”
It’s worth noting that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been assembling a Young Avengers group of their own. Perhaps the upcoming 2025 title is part of a larger corporate synergy strategy. If that’s the case, the lineup might consist of the young characters we’ve seen in the MCU, such as Kate Bishop, Wiccan, Skaar, America Chavez, and Ms. Marvel.
As of now, Marvel Comics has not put a Young Avengers title on their release schedule or announced a creative team. As we wait for the official announcement, we can spend the next few months speculating on the roster and the creative team. Personally, I would love to see the original team roster together again.
