Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves trailer brings Guardians of the Galaxy vibes to the RPG franchise
Don't call them heroes! Chris Pine charms in first Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves trailer
The first trailer for Paramount Pictures' Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves checks all the boxes - and goes outside the box - in the second attempt to bring the tabletop RPG classic to the big screen...
... and boy, does it work.
Chris Pine (Star Trek, Wonder Woman) is charming as Edgin, a smooth-talking bard that could be a long-lost twin brother to Chris Pratt's Peter Quill from the Guardians of the Galaxy movie. That vibe is carried over with Michaelle Rodriguez' barbaric Holga and the mercucial Paladin Xenk (played by Regé-Jean Page), making for what appears - from the trailer, at least - to be a proper rollickin' sword & sorcery & owlbear adventure.
Yes, owlbears.
Check out the first trailer here:
"A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people," reads Paramount Pictures' description of the film. "Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves brings the rich world and playful spirit of the legendary roleplaying game to the big screen in a hilarious and action-packed adventure."
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves opens in theaters March 3, 2023.
