Five Nights at Freddy's 2 release date: The upcoming horror sequel gets a decidedly festive 2025 release date
As though the holidays weren't scary enough.
We’re all ready for another slice of horror, but it looks like we’ll have to wait a little bit longer than we expected to get it. Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, the sequel to one of the most surprising horror hits of 2023, is set to hit cinemas late in 2025. In fact, the Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 release date is a bit later in the year than we expected.
The first entry landed shortly before Halloween, as is tradition for many horror movies throughout the years. We all love to get together and watch something that is going to scare the pants off of us that time of year. However, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 won’t hit cinemas until December 5, 2025, putting it in the middle of a decidedly more festive time of year.
Understandably, we don’t know much about the plot or anything else happening in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 yet, but the release date has us hopping it isn’t a scheduling accident or even Blumhouse trying to avoid getting lost in the crowd among other horror films coming out just before Halloween. We sincerely hope that the new release date is completely intentional and the sequel will take place during the same time of year. Christmas horror movies exist and we desperately want more of them.
There are a lot of questions about Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 that remain unanswered, but one thing we desperately want to know is how Chuck E. Cheese is going to piggyback off the marketing for this one. Another terrifying and ill-advised late-night event? The sky is the limit on this one.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 will hit cinemas on December 5, 2025.
The Five Nights at Freddy's phenomenon is lasting longer than five nights. Get up to speed, with how to stream the movie, details on the characters and lore, getting to know the FNAF animatronics, how it fits in the canon of the games, talks of sequels, how Chuck E. Cheese is responding, and even a guide to how to play all the FNAF games.
Can't get enough? We have have recommendations for five movies to watch after Five Nights at Freddy's.
