Back in the 1990s, the Fatal Fury series released a flurry of titles. 11 games came out between 1991 and 1999 on a variety of consoles and platforms, but, then, the series largely vanished. However, like any good fighting game protagonist, Fatal Fury found another life and is returning once again. Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves’ release date is coming soon, something that brings joy to fighting game aficionados around the world.

After more than 26 years, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will be released on April 24, 2025. It is coming to PlayStation and Xbox consoles as well as PC and implements everything that developer SNK has learned in the two-and-a-half decades since the last mainline Fatal Fury game. Characters can pull off multiple super moves to either devastate their opponents or enter a “Hyper Defense” mode to prevent incoming damage. There are also Rev Arts that allow players to move themselves and their opponents around the arena to control the flow of battle.

One thing that is new this time around is the inclusion of Guest Characters from other series. Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves’ first season DLC will include Chun-Li and Ken Masters from the Street Fighter series, marking the first third-party characters to appear in the Fatal Fury series. In addition to this change, there is also a single-player mode that features RPG mechanics and a stronger focus on the plot.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is out on April 24, 2025 for PlayStation and Xbox consoles and PC.
