I think we can all confidently say that the Magic: The Gathering and Final Fantasy crossover is going to be huge. The crossover will bring together two intensely passionate fandoms with a deep sense of history and appreciative eye towards great artwork. Now, ahead of MagicCon: Las Vegas this June, Wizards of the Coast has unveiled an adorable new addition to their latest crossover: a Torgal promo card!
As part of their announcements for this year's MagicCon: Las Vegas, Wizards of the Coast revealed that each attendee at MagicCon will receive a promo card of Yoshimaru, Ever Faithful, starring Torgal, Clive's Companion. The artwork on the card is taken from Final Fantasy XVI, and shows Clive Rosfield's dog as a puppy. Just look how cute he is!
Torgal isn't the only part of Final Fantasy XVI represented at MagicCon this year. Ben Starr, the voice actor behind Clive Rosfield, will be moderating a panel about the Final Fantasy and MTG crossover. We can only assume that he will scream, "COME TO ME, IFRIT!" at least once onstage, right? The ball is in your court, Mr. Starr.
Additionally, there will be a Square Enix booth at MagicCon this year, where you can purchase plushies and figurines of all your favorite Final Fantasy characters. The booth will also be selling card sleeves with official Final Fantasy artwork on them, that will hit retail shops later this year! If anyone wants to get me a Sephiroth plushie, let me know.
