With highly realistic graphics and a complex community simulation in the works, inZOI looks to be everything The Sims has tried to be - with less DLC to purchase.

For decades, The Sims has been the gold standard for the life simulation genre. The mix of controlling so much of these digital people’s lives and having a job that rewards good performance with regular promotions is the ultimate power fantasy for most people, but now inZOI has come along to try to challenge The Sims 4 for the title of the best life simulator game. With inZOI’s Early Access release date coming up soon, it is the first game in years to pose a real threat to The Sims’ dominance in the genre.

Though it was meant to come out in 2024, inZOI is expected to enter Early Access on Steam on March 28, 2025, which will give players a chance to create their own world in more realistic detail than The Sims has ever managed. Publisher KRAFTON has promised that inZOI will have some of the most impressive community simulations and the potential to create deep stories within the game’s fictional world.

The biggest difference between inZOI and The Sims is the realistic graphics that inZOI boasts using the Unreal Engine 5. It allows players to have more control over the look of each character, with a surprising amount of detail in their faces and hair. How well those graphics hold up once the game is released into Early Access – a period when most titles struggle with performance issues – is something we won’t know until it is released.

inZOI will enter Early Access on March 28, 2025. The developers have said that it will be available on PC to start with console launches sometime down the line.
