The horror icon has been terrifying fans for nearly 40 years, so there are plenty of terrifying characters for Dead by Daylight to choose from.

In the world of horror comics, there are few names bigger than Junji Ito. His work at turning the ordinary into the terrifying has an almost Lovecraftian feel to it, so it makes sense that his most famous creatures would eventually make their way into The Fog - and sure enough, a collection of cosmetics for Dead by Daylight based on Junji Ito’s creations have been added to the multiplayer game.

The new Junji Ito Collection in Dead by Daylight comes with five new outfits for the monstrous Killers and three for the Survivors to wear. The full collection includes:

  • Tsukiko’s Uniform for Yui Kimura
  • Terumi’s Fame for Yun-Jin Lee
  • Puppet’s Troubled Ballet for Kate Denson
  • Miss Fuchi skin for The Artist
  • Tomie skin for The Spirit
  • Hikizuri’s Dark Past skin for The Twins
  • Soichi’s Party Clothes skin for The Trickster
  • Half Spirits’ Torment skin for The Dredge

These cosmetics don’t change the gameplay of any of these characters, but it does help expose some of Junji Ito’s most iconic work to a set of horror fans who might not have encountered it before. At least, this turned out better than the Uzumaki anime from last year, which suffered from budget and quality issues after its first episode. This manages to capture the surreal character designs and the body horror themes that have made Ito’s work so influential for horror fans around the world. There really is no other artist in the genre quite like him.

The Junji Ito Collection for Dead by Daylight is currently available for purchase.
