The GTA 6 delays have one silver lining, according to Franklin Clinton actor Shawn Fonteno: it's keeping Grand Theft Auto V relevant

The wait for GTA 6 has been long, and that’s just fine for GTA 5 actor Shawn Fonteno

The wait for Grand Theft Auto VI has been long. It’s been almost 12 years, four Presidential administrations, and 28 MCU movies. It’s been a while, and if Reddit is any indication, players are tired of waiting. However, Franklin Clinton actor Shawn Fonteno is fine with the delays. In his eyes, they’ve helped GTA 5 remain relevant.

“GTA 6 should’ve been out, but you all got to understand, when people get mad and be like, ‘Man GTA 6 is taking too damn long,’ and this and that…to us, we love it, to be honest with y’all," Fonteno said while at Sci-Fi Valley Con 2024.

“Even though 6 is coming, and we’re all anticipating it, and everybody can’t wait, but GTA 5 has been rolling for fucking almost 11 years man, and that’s a blessing to us. It’s still rocking, and you guys are still supporting it. When GTA 6 comes, it’s going to have its time, but right now we soaking up 5 as much as we can. We living it out, because this is a dream to us. Once it’s over, it’s over, and we’ll just be comic con guests, and people that you guys still remember.”

Fonteno has a point, because having GTA 5 to play has certainly made the wait for GTA 6 more bearable. Plus, it helps that GTA 5 is a good game with lots of replayability. Let’s hope GTA 6 is the same way, because we’re going to need something to hold us over if GTA 7 takes half as long.
