Fortnite's next Star Wars event Galactic Battle will include Darth Jar Jar, as well as the Mandalorian, Luke Skywalker and... a Death Star?

Fortnite x Star Wars: Galactic Battle begins May 2 2025

Jar Jar Binks is having a moment — or, rather, his alternate reality Sith self is. Fresh from jumping from internet meme to actual character in 2024’s LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, Darth Jar Jar is about to be added to Fortnite as part of May 2025’s Galactic Battle event.

Darth Jar Jar’s inclusion was revealed as part of the new trailer for the limited-time event, which launches May 2. Watch the trailer below.

As the trailer reveals, it’s not just Darth Jar Jar who’ll be making the jump to Fortnite Island for the event: Luke Skywalker and Mace Windu were just two of the other Star Wars icons who made appearances in the trailer, which also revealed the timeline for the event: May 2 will see the launch of Imperial Takeover, followed by May 8’s The Pull of the Force, May 22’s Mandalorian Rising, May 29’s Star Destroyer Bombardment, and June 7’s Death Star Sabotage.

Wait… they’re adding the Death Star to Fortnite? This isn’t going to end well.

This is the first Star Wars/Fortnite collaboration; the game has hosted multiple events tied to the franchise, starting with a Rise of Skywalker promotion back in 2019; since then, skins based on everyone from Leia and Luke through Fennec Shand, Ahsoka Tano, and Chewbacca have made limited-time appearances tied to particular promotions.

Fortnite Galactic Battle begins May 2.
