Fans of the anime Haikyuu! have been looking forward to the upcoming movie ever since it was first announced several years ago. With the Japanese release date for Haikyuu! The Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump already past, those of us in English-speaking countries are wondering when we’ll get to see Shoyo Hinata and the rest of the Karasuno High School volleyball team in action once more.
When is Haikyuu! The Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump releasing in the US?
Instead of a final season to wrap up the story, Haikyuu! is getting a pair of movies to cover the remaining chapters of the manga. The first of those movies, Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump released on February 16, 2024, in Japan. There, it did remarkably well at the box office, matching One Piece: Red's opening weekend box office. Fans in the US have had to wait a little bit longer to see it, but Haikyuu! The Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump will release in US cinemas on May 31, 2024, both dubbed and subbed.
We're still waiting to find out when the long-rumored second Haikyuu! final film will come out, but considering the long wait for Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump, we might be waiting several years. If patience isn’t your strong suit, you can spend the time getting caught up on the Haikyuu! anime with our guide to how to watch it all. Every episode and OVA is currently streaming on Crunchyroll. Or you can forge ahead with the manga, which recently got a new chapter, on the Shonen Jump app.
