Hobtown Mystery Stories is back. Fans of the critically acclaimed black and white noir comic from Kris Bertin and Alexander Forbes as well as new readers alike will be excited to hear that the comic is going back to press, this time with color provided by Jason Fischer. Oni Press will be publishing the newly colored versions of Hobtown Mystery Stories Volume 1 and 2, but it doesn't stop there.
Oni Press will be publishing the continuation of brand new volumes of Hobtown Mystery Stories beginning with volume 3 in 2025. About the revival of Hobton Mystery Stories, writer and co-creator Kris Bertin shared in a statement that the project is, “a labour of love between two best friends, a place we’ve visited for over a decade to explore and imagine together.” Artist and co-creator Alexander Forbes added, “To have found a home for Hobtown Mystery Stories with Oni Press—and to see it in breathtaking color for the first time—is an absolute joy, and one that we're so excited to share with new (and return) visitors to our funny little town,” said artist and co-creator Alexander Forbes.
Though the first new volume of Hobtown Mystery Stories will debut in 2025, you don't have to wait that long to see Hobtown Mystery Stories in color. The first newly colored volume be published on April 24, 2024. And if even that wait seems too long, you can check out an exclusive preview from that first volume in the gallery below.
