One of comics' top writers, James Tynion IV, launched his own production company in February 2024 - with a notable financing partner, and deals with several of comics' top publishers. Now, just three months later, the company is doubling in size.
Tiny Onion has hired on four new employees, bringing its staff up to eight - with a a second editor, a second production worker, a full-time talent manager, and an executive assistant to make the whole operation run smoother.
"It's an incredible feeling to watch this Tiny Onion grow. This company is still in its earliest stages, but we're assembling some of the brightest minds to help us become exactly what we need to become," Tynion said in a statement accompanying the announcement. "Every day I become more and more excited for people to find out what we've got cooking here behind the scenes, and more and more confident that I have the team to execute those plans."
Here's the current staff - with this week's new hires in italics:
- James Tynion IV, CEO/founder
- Antonio Guanaes, executive assistant
- Eric Harburn, director of editorial
- Steve Foxe, editor
- Courtney Menard, director of production
- DeAna Avila, production manager
- Jazzlyn Stone, director of communications
- Greg Lockard, talent manager
In addition to that, Oni Press' former publicty director Tara Lehmann is acting as the company's freelance publicist, as part of her recently launched company Twin Sirens Media.
Best known for his work in comics, Tynion aims for Tiny Onion to be the incubator for his next comics projects, as well as those of other collaborators... and help usher them logically into any and all adaptations including movies, TV series, games, or theme park experiences. (Hey, we can hope!)
