Jonathan Hickman, Mike Del Mundo, and Mike Huddleston's stunning new comics universe is coming to print - and we have the first four pages for you
Inside the dynamic new comics universe by Jonathan Hickman, Mike Del Mundo, and Mike Huddleston
For the past year, comic creators Jonathan Hickman, Mike Del Mundo, and Mike Huddleston have been creating their own comic universe called Three Worlds / Three Moons (3W/3M). No, not just a single comic or a single series, but an entire universe to tell stories in. After sharing snippets and portions of it to early-adopters on the group's Substack, Three Worlds / Three Moons is coming out to the general public.
The Three Worlds / Three Moons universe will make its 'physical world' debut at July's Comic-Con International: San Diego with a booth, a panel, and yes, a printed comic - their first full-length comic. Foundations will debut in print July 24 at Comic-Con International: San Diego, and Popverse has an exclusive four-page preview for you, today.
Foundations follows Doctor Tajo R. Vallar, a scientist (and husband, and father) working for a sinister organization called the Institute - which has been systematicly uncovering, disproving, and covering up the existence of magic across the universe in favor of the current science-centric era that's been going on for centuries.
"Thematically, the grand story that we’re telling here is about the coming rebirth of creativity in a universe that has become overly-structured, systematic, cynical, and cold," Hickman has said about Three Worlds / Three Moons. "Perhaps much like our own."
Here is a preview of Foundations, by writer Jonathan Hickman, artists Mike Del Mundo and Mike Huddleston, along with designer Sasha E Head, letterer Rus Wooton, and editor-in-chief Stephen Wacker.

A digital edition of Foundations was sent out to paid subscribers of the Three Worlds / Three Moons Substack earlier this week. A special, signed edition of the Foundations print comic is being sent out to first 100 yearly paid subscribers to the Substack, as well as all subscribers of the 'Founders' level tier.
The Three Worlds / Three Moons trio of Hickman, Del Mundo, and Huddleston will also be appearing at C2E2, Emerald City Comic Con, and New York Comic Con - which will include exclusive VIP events not available at San Diego, or anywhere, for the entire year.
