Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 final episodes: When is the current season of the hit anime coming to an end?
Too much of Gojo's antics is never enough.
Jujutsu Kaisen season two started in July 2023, running for a total of two cours. The extended episode count means that fans are getting even more of the epic battles and comedy that have become the hallmarks of the season. However, all good things must come to an end and the final episode of Jujutsu Kaisen season two have finally landed.
The second season of Jujutsu Kaisen consisted of 23 episodes, so we know when it is due to finish. Like most shows in the Fall anime season, the final episode of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 aired in the last week of December. New episodes dropped on Thursdays on Crunchyroll, which means that Jujutsu Kaisen season two ended on December 28, 2023.
Jujutsu Kaisen's release date seems to shift slightly, with a few taking place on the Friday - this is because occasionally the Japanese network that broadcasts the anime airs it a few minutes past midnight - a small change that makes a difference to our release date schedule.
Jujutsu Kaisen season two took a short break from airing, which is why there is no episode listed for 24 August There are also two recap episodes this season, which aired on 10 and 17 August. The final episode of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 aired on December 28, 2023.While season one of Jujutsu Kaisen did a lot of world-building and setting up for future stories, it was Jujutsu Kaisen 0 that laid a lot of the groundwork for season two of the show. Not only did the prequel film give us a hint at Geto’s ambitions, but it also showed us just how dark the world of Jujutsu Kaisen could be. While it might not be absolutely vital to Yuji’s story, it is a perfect introduction to the places this anime can go.
The second season of Jujutsu Kaisen has given fans more of what they want, provided what they want is more of Satoru Gojo. The first part of this season covered the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc from the manga and gave us more insight into Gojo’s past and his relationship with Geto, one of the series’ main antagonists. Since then, the focus has shifted to the popular Shibuya Incident arc, which sets many of the main characters down a darker path for the immediate future.
While there hasn’t been an official announcement from the studio that Jujutsu Kaisen will return for a third season, it is hard to imagine that we won’t get more of Yuji, Megumi, Nobara, and, of course, Gojo in the future. Considering it was nearly three years between season one ending and season two beginning, fans might just have to wait longer than they’d like.
