Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes early footage debuts at CinemaCon, and it's pretty spectacular
What can we say? It just plain looks amazing

It's final day of CinemaCon, but that doesn't mean we're done yet. At Disney's studio presentation, 20th Century showed about fiteen minutes of early footage from the highly anticipated Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, and it looks incredible.
First things first, I saw some early footage from this same movie at WonderCon, and at the time, I wasn't very impressed. While the movie looked good, the footage showed didn't seem to have the personal and emotional resonance that has become synonymous with the Apes movies. That thought was completely put to rest with the footage shown at CinemaCon.

Not only were we treated with a couple of complete scenes that packed serious emotional wallops (we wont spoil you with plot points here), but we also just got to spend some time with these extraordinary looking apes (seriously, they look great).
It was also nice to see that the footage shown had plenty of moments of silence too, and it felt like the film is truly of a voice with the recent Planet of the Apes trilogy, which this film is following, but not a direct sequel to.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will debut in theaters on May 10, 2024.
