Sarah J. Maas' A Court of Thorns and Roses series of novels has taken the fantasy romance world and most every book nook in America by storm, and here now in 2025, we're all coming to realize that the series is 10 years old. That's right, the first book was released May 5, 2015. As we approach the day-and-date of the 10-year anniversary itself, Maas and her publisher have a special present for fans.
No, not the sixth book. (Not yet, at least.)
They are re-recording the audiobooks of the first five ACOTAR books, and they're not just having anyone to do it - and nor are they using some celebrity with a name. They're getting Elizabeth Evans, who became a fan-favorite after narrating Maas' other books, Crescent City and Throne of Glass.
"I’ve seen fans embracing the narrators of my audiobooks," Maas said recently on Tiktok. "Elizabeth Evans, who I adore — people have come up to her on the street recognizing her. She’s actually in the process of re-recording all the ACOTAR’ audiobooks, to be released with the 10th anniversary of ACOTAR this spring."
This is something fans had been hoping for — so much in fact there was a Change.org petition for it to happen this time last year.
While no precise release date for the Elizabeth Evans renditions of the ACOTAR books have announced, i would clear out my calendar for May 2025 for some long drives to jump back into Maas' work again in this new version of it all.
