If there’s one place where Batman wouldn’t feel comfortable, it’s San Diego — a city that’s sunny, warm, and welcoming, and not exactly the kind of locale a Dark Knight would find himself without good reason. Knowing that, it’s no difficult to guess why Saturday’s DC’s Gotham panel at San Diego Comic-Con exists: sure, we can pretend it’s so that DC can share information about what’s coming up in the comic book adventures of Batman and family, but it’s really just an excuse to re-create the Caped Crusader’s home city in miniature, even just for an hour.
