At an event like New York Comic Con, there's something for everyone. This is exactly what Edwin Raymond, Senior Talent Coordinator at ReedPop, keeps in mind while putting together the programming for New York Comic Con. As a senior talent coordinator, Raymond balances feedback from attendees as well as emergent trends in pop culture in order to put on a convention that is cued into the interests of fans today.

One fan question that Raymond answered was why some celebrity panelists do not participate in autograph sessions. "Often times when celeb panelists are coming in, they're coming in under studio obligations. So when a celebrity signs a deal for a movie, technically within that contract is a certain amount of PR... It's treated the same way as a red carpet appearance... A lot of what [celebrities are] doing at the show is not actually seen by fans while they're there. They're typically spending a lot of their day doing interviews."

And what happens when a guest cancels unexpectedly before the show? "Things come up," Raymond said, "These are human beings... there could be anything. These are working actors... I think a lot of people think that, 'Oh my god, they know their schedule for the next year or two.' They really don't. It's sometimes three months in advance or they're waiting on callbacks from something. Filming schedules are really challenging just to put down, especially when you're filming internationally."
