Three places to find the perfect cup of coffee while at Seattle's ECCC 2025

Popverse #protips on coffee near the Seattle Convention Center.

The Pacific Northwest's premiere comic + pop culture show Emerald City Comic Con returns soon - March 6 through 9 to be exact. Stay tuned to Popverse for all the ECCC 2025 news, our recs for what to do at ECCC 2025, where to find Popverse, and buy tickets now to find your place at the Seattle staple.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year - Emerald City Comic Con! The very best show that kicks off convention season, with 2025’s ECCC escapade having Popverse run a full-scale interview suite at the show – a first in. This will be our fourth ECCC, which means I have had four years to discover where the perfect cup of coffee (that isn’t the Starbucks in the lobby of either the convention center or the surrounding hotels, bless the nice folx who keep them running throughout the length of the show!) Here is my Coffee Flight recommendations for when you step out onto the streets of Seattle, into the torrential rain, and are looking for a handful of warmth.

ECCC Coffee recs: Monorail Espresso

My top recommendation is Monorail Espresso. Named for the visually iconic train which runs throughout downtown, Monorail Espresso is a local chain. The Pike Street location is walking distance from either convention center building (I’m walking less than 5 minutes), a tiny window facing the street, with the best espresso-based drinks you could ever imagine. The cortado is to die for! I’m always sure to pick up one before heading to whichever hotel is hosting bar con for the evening!

ECCC Coffee recs: Storyville Coffee

If you are stalwart enough to brave the crowds of Pike Place Market skip the original Starbucks (you may notice a trend here …), you make dip into Storyville Coffee. Your soul will be warmed not only by your caffeinated beverage of choice, but by the Storyville manages to get inside through some truly magnificent window fixtures. Come for the pick-me-up, stay for the Insta opportunities. If you’re bringing a date to ECCC this year Storyville is my personal recommendation. Pick up a cinnamon roll to share!

ECCC Coffee recs: Ghost Note

Want to live your full Frasier Crane coffee connoisseur fantasy? The furthest jaunt I’ll send you on is to Ghost Note. An incredibly elegant space with a coffee menu that feels like you’re being offered a wine list. Fancy the roast you kicked up your heels and tried for the first time at Ghost Note? You can always take a bag home with you. Makes a perfect souvenir for family and friends back home.

And, know, of course, if you spy me or anyone else from Team Popverse or ReedPop huddled over our own cups of java in any of these spots you are more than welcome to come over, say hi, and ask us what we’re drinking!
