HBO's dark superhero movie comedy The Franchise is coming to New York Comic Con 2024

All big superheroes come to comic con, so a Veep-style comedy about the making of them should definitely come to NYCC 2024.

Popverse was there for all four days of New York Comic Con 2024, immersing ourselves in the pop culture party full of vendors, events, and celebrities from the worlds of comics, movies, TV, gaming, and more. If you couldn't make it (or are worried you missed something) click the link for our wall-to-wall coverage of the event.

Superhero movies are a cottage industry at this point in time, and we all know all too well the successes (and also the disasters) of the genre. This fall, HBO and the creator of Veep are telling the story of a beleaguered superhero franchise just trying to make its next movie... And, just as any superhero movie franchise would do, new series The Franchise is coming to comic con.

HBO's The Franchise is coming to New York Comic Con, both with a booth on the show floor as well as a star-studded panel. Panelists include Himesh Patel (Daniel), Aya Cash (Anita), Billy Magnussen (Adam), Lolly Adefope (Dag), Daniel Brühl (Eric), Darren Goldstein (Pat), Isaac Powell (Bryson), Jon Brown (Creator, Executive Producer, Writer, and Showrunner), Rachel Axler (Writer), and Juli Weiner (Writer).

HBO's official The Franchise panel is scheduled for Friday, October 18 beginning at 2:00 PM in room 405.

The Franchise debuts October 6 on HBO, and will also be available to to watch on the Max streaming service.
