The 2026 dates for the huge MegaCon comic convention have been announced during the 2025 version of event. MegaCon 2026 will take place Thursday, March 19, 2026 through Sunday, March 22, 2026, once again at Orlando's Orange County Convention Center.
The March 2026 dates for MegaCon are a month later than they have been the past two years, but fall well within the window of historic dates the convention has had, letting it remain firmly a spring show. Booking this far out in advance - 13 months! - means that there's no other major convention dates announced that would conflict with this time so far. That being said, it's possible other spring shows such as Anaheim's WonderCon, Kansas City's Planet Comicon, or the MegaCon sister show Fan Expo Cleveland, might end up being announced with similar dates in the upcoming months.
MegaCon may not have the name recognition of a Comic-Con International: San Diego or a New York Comic Con, but the Orlando staple is in fact the second largest comic con in North America, second only to NYCC. It was my first major comic con back in the early '00s, and its 2024 event boasted 190,000 attendees. According to local tourism experts talking to the area TV news station WFTV 9, it brings in $200 million to the area over the course of just one weekend.
Where is MegaCon 2026?
Since 2001, MegaCon Orlando has occurred in the spacious Orange County Convention Center. People who have been attending for years will say its bounced between the different areas of the convention center each year, but its likely always be int he Orange Country Convention Center unless something happens to that building or Orlando builds something bigger.
Is MegaCon bigger than Comic-Con?
Yes, MegaCon is bigger than Comic Con - at least in terms of attendance. Since 2019, MegaCon's fan attendance has exceeded SDCC - due in part to SDCC's limits on attendance due to the size of their building.
The fact that MegaCon is nearby to the Florida theme parks also, no doubt, helps in attendance.
How long is MegaCon Orlando?
MegaCon Orlando has been a four-day show since 2016, usually taking place in February or March of each year.
