What makes a comic store a great holiday destination? Comic book retailers discuss at NYCC 2024, and you can watch

Watch the Making the Holidays the Most Wonderful Time of Your Year panel from New York Comic Con 2024’s Retailer Day right here!

Don’t look now, but it’s very close to the hap-happiest season of all — so what’s the best way for comic stores to take advantage of the holiday mood? Comic book retailers discussed that very question during ReedPop’s first-ever NYCC Retailer Day — and Popverse was there to keep track of the conversation.

One of the panels taking place during the industry-only Retailer Day programming was titled, helpfully, Making the Holidays the Most Wonderful Time of Your Year, with retailers discussing the best ways to turn comic stores into winter wonderlands, and how to transform themselves into seasonal Santas to best help their customers get the ideal gifts for friends and family. In it, ComicsPRO president Joe Murray (also of Captain Blue Hen Comics in Delaware), VP Jenn Haines also of The Dragon comics chain in Canada), Shannon Live (of Bat City Comic Professionals), and Brian Garside (of Manage Comics) talk about decking the comic shop halls for the holiday season.

Sound like something you might want to check out? Here’s an early gift to you, in that case — because we recorded the whole panel and we’re giving it to you right now! (I know, we shouldn’t have… but we really couldn’t resist.) Watch the Making the Holidays the Most Wonderful Time of Your Year panel from New York Comic Con 2024’s Retailer Day:
