Popverse was there for all four days of New York Comic Con 2024, immersing ourselves in the pop culture party full of vendors, events, and celebrities from the worlds of comics, movies, TV, gaming, and more. Remember that scene in Across the Spider-Verse, when Spider-Man stops The Spot from robbing that ATM? New Yorkers recognized so many elements from that scene, from the mismatched products on the shelves, to the bodega owner that knows you on sight, to the "this isn't the craziest thing that's happened in here" attitude. Bodegas are, indeed, a staple for the residence of the City that Never Sleeps, which is probably why New York Comic Con has decided to put them at the center of their 2024 convention.

If you're in town for NYCC '24 but not necessarily a resident, you might be interested in experiencing this slice of city life beyond the honorable homages within the halls of the Javits Center (maybe even after a meal?).
