New York Comic Con 2024 expands to 5-day event with comics industry-centric Retailer Day

New York Comic Con is the biggest comic convention in North America, with all the major creators, publishers, and retailers crossing paths to meet with fans - but it's also a chance for those very same individuals and companies to meet with each other. Following up on ReedPop's inaugural Industry Summit at NYCC 2023, it is expanding with NYCC's first ever Wednesday event schedule.
Yes, Wednesday.
In what is dubbed 'Retailer Day,' New York Comic Con 2024 will open its doors a day early on Wednesday, October 16 for comic book retailers and sponsors of the event for a full-day of programming, meet-ups, and more about the comics industry. NYCC 2024 Retailer Day takes place Wednesday, October 16 from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm as a closed-door event for those with a pro-badge in the comic book industry, as well as those presenting at the event.
NYCC 2024's Retailer Day will include programming by the comics retailer trade organization ComicsPRO, the direct-market comics distributor Lunar Distribution, as well as James Tynion IV's recently-launched comics company Tiny Onion, and more. The panels and interactive programming are to include topics such as:
- Get Your Shop on The News: PR Basics
- Benefits of Collaborating with Fellow Retailers/Intro to ComicsPro
- Working With Schools and Libraries
- Speed Networking with Comic Book Retailers
Retailers can look forward to private signings with key creators as well as exclusive comics for attending NYCC 2024 Retailer day including a event-exclusive variant edition of The Department of Truth #25, with a new cover illustrated by Rosemary Valero-O'Connell. More exclusives are to be announced leading up to the event.
The comics industry programming continues Thursday with the second annual NYCC Industry Summit sponsosred by Comic Sketch Art. This event will take place from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm with several speakers, an industry mixer, and complimentary merchandise from Tiny Onion.

This is the tip of the iceberg for professional programming to take place during New York Comic Con 2024, as ReedPop has partnered with the New York Public Library, Lit-X, the National Academy of Continuing Legal Education, and more for events to be announced.
