Oscar Isaac's dream scene partner is Cate Blanchett... even though they've technically already been in a movie together

At New York Comic Con 2022, the Moon Knight star said that he'd love to work with fellow Marvelite Blanchett... but hold on, what about that movie they were in together?

Oscar Isaac has worked with (and frankly, is one of) the best of them. But there are only so many days in a year, and that means that even movie stars have dreams of working with their favorite A-listers. At New York Comic Con 2022, Isaac was asked about who, out of all of Hollywood, he'd like to work with, and his answer was basically immediate: "Cate Blanchett."

As we said, this came from a comic convention, so the first thing that probably popped into most folks' minds is a Moon Knight/Hela meetup. And while the characters have never been on screen together, the pair has technically been part of the same project, as both the Goddess of Death and Fist of Khonshu featured in episodes of the animated What If...?, both voiced by their live-action counterparts.

But here's the thing: Isaac and Blanchett have already worked together on a joint project, one that brought them a lot closer than vocal roles across different seasons of an animated show.

The project I'm talking about is the 2010 historical epic Robin Hood, directed by Ridley Scott. The movie sees the pair in perhaps the two most important supporting roles of the Robin Hood mythos - that is, the antagonistic Prince John (Isaac) and the love interest Marion (Blanchett).

(Okay, so maybe Little John outranks them, but not by much.)

Here's something to keep in mind, though, something that's probably the reason Isaac still wants to work with Blanchett 14 years after their tour through medieval England. Even though they were both semi-leads in the film, the pair did not actually have any scenes together. Hopefully their continued work with MCU properties will change that. If nothing else, just to make Isaac's dreams come true.

Or, hell, maybe Ridley Scott will make a Robin Hood sequel some decade away from now. He did it for Gladiator, who's to say he won't do it again?
