Triforce Cosplay arrives at New York Comic Con with one mission: to give fans what they want

“No-one leaves our booth without a smile,” explains Triforce Cosplay founder Jeff Stillman

Fans attending New York Comic Con 2024 looking for replica weapons and accessories will, I suspect, have no problem quickly identifying which booth belongs to popular provider Triforce Cosplay — after all, its sheer size alone is likely to draw a lot of attention on the show floor of the Javits Center, with the booth at #4655 measuring 10 feet by 80 feet in size - that's larger than a semi truck!

Of course, based on past experience, that enormous presentation still might not be enough to handle the foot traffic of fans showing up to see the latest offerings that Triforce has to display across the four-day event. Whether you’re looking for metal swords and daggers — you’ve always wanted your own Devil May Cry Yamato, haven’t you? — foam replicas of Mass Effect’s M8 or Gears of War’s Lancer rifle, or even a World of Warcraft Flame Hammer (in foam form, of course), it’s safe to say that Triforce Cosplay should be on your list of must-see destinations at this year’s NYCC.

The company started back in 2010 for one simple reason, according to founder Jeff Stillman, who explains to Popverse that he was motivated to build Triforce Cosplay “after going to several comic conventions and noticing that there was a desperate need for better quality cosplay replicas and upgraded customer service.”

We’ll come back to the first part of that momentarily — not least because this is exactly what the majority of people reading are looking forward to — but, for a brief second, let’s focus on Triforce’s dedication to superior customer service.

Keep the customer satisfied

“The company has a ‘kill them with kindness’ approach to doing business,” Stillman boasts. “Over the years, we’ve flourished in our relationships not only in the con industry — the manufacturing side — but also our amazing connections with all of our wonderful customers.”

That’s an attitude that has paid dividends many times over for everyone involved with the company, as Triforce’s dedication to satisfied customers (or even simply ensuring that, as Stillman puts it, “no one leaves our booth without a smile”) has directly translated into a succession of repeat customers across the years that has become something of a community in its own right; the company says that, as it returns to conventions year after year, its booth can often be found filled by previous customers returning to share stories of how happy they are with their purchases and looking to build collections with new weapons and replicas.

Post-purchase relationships are a big part of Triforce Cosplay’s business, as counterintuitive as that might initially seem; the company’s active social media presence invites customers to share photos of how they display (or use!) their replicas, maintaining the connection far beyond when many companies would have moved on to the next sale.

Return business is somewhat of a theme for Triforce Cosplay’s mission statement as a whole; even looking past inviting past customers to come back for more, the company also enjoys ongoing relationships with multiple conventions nationwide, building a customer base that extends far beyond its native California. This year’s New York Comic Con appearance is the company’s “fourth or fifth New York in a row,” Popverse was told.

Giving them what they want

The dedication to giving the customer what they want is what drives the design and manufacture of Triforce’s product, as well. “The magic to what we do is listening to the patrons,” Stillman says. “We take every suggestion to heart and strive to fulfill all their needs when it comes to replicating their favorite swords, guns, and all the other accessories wanted.” It’s that approach that has led to a range of offerings that cross genre, era, and even media — whether it’s a video game, Triforce Cosplay is ready to deliver exactly what its audience is looking for… and at the level of precision and execution that brings them back year after year, as noted above. After all, as Stillman eagerly shares, “We provide the highest quality and affordable cosplay replicas and accessories in the industry.”

In addition to the items mentioned above, showcased at New York Comic Con this year will be Triforce Cosplay’s range of licensed Game of Thrones swords, including those used by Ned Stark, Arya Stark, and others from HBO’s iconic fantasy series. Additionally, the company’s licensed One Piece replicas come packaged with “wanted posters” of the appropriate characters.

Ultimately, however, Jeff Stillman and everyone involved with Triforce Cosplay and Accessories know that providing top-quality merchandise is only half the story, and it’s the efforts he and his staff make to close that gap that fully explain why the company has built the reputation it has over the years. Fittingly, perhaps, Stillman downplays the work in favor of underscoring his company’s guiding principle. “We've been asked several times, what is the secret to our success?” he says. “It's a really simple answer, being friendly and kind to all who cross our paths.”

New York Comic Con runs October 17 through October 20 at the Javits Center. For the entire show, Triforce Cosplay can be found at booth 4655 (head all the way to the back right of the show floor on the third floor), as well as a smaller display at booth 2880.
