Anytime Dragon Ball is on our screens is a good time, but things feel a bit different now that we’ve had our first look at Dragon Ball Daima. It is the first series in the iconic anime franchise released since the passing of Akira Toriyama, so fans are hanging on every possible detail coming out. We still don’t know much about the new characters introduced in Dragon Ball Daima, but we do know that Aaron Dismuke will be voicing new character Glorio in the series’ English dub.

The announcement came during the Dragon Ball Daima panel at New York Comic Con 2024, with the Fullmetal Alchemist and Kaguya-Sama: Love is War voice actor coming on stage to confirm their casting. Fans have heard Dismuke briefly in the English trailer for Dragon Ball Daima, but his casting wasn’t confirmed until after the first episode of the series was aired in Japanese.

Dismuke joined Stephanie Nadolny, the voice of Kid Goku since the original Dragon Ball anime, on stage during the panel to talk about the casting. He explained that he had “hedged his bets” by auditioning for multiple characters in the show, expecting to maybe get a small part but hoping to get Glorio, who was explained by Executive Producer of the Dragon Ball franchise Akio Iyoku, as “mysterious.”

Aaron Dismuke has been working as a voice actor in anime for years, providing the original voice for Full Metal Alchemist’s Alphonse Elric. Since then, he’s continued to voice popular characters, including Miyuki Shirogane in Kaguya-sama: Love is War and Senku Ishigami in Dr. Stone.
