Marvel Studios isn’t done with Vision. We last saw the synthezoid superhero in the season finale of WandaVision, where he battled another version of himself - with only the original Vision apparently surviving in the end.
It's been three years since that final scene for Vision (both of them), but now Vision actor Paul Bettany may have just confirmed the character’s return to the MCU. During a spotlight panel at Megacon 2024, the actor gave a surprising answer to a fan question. “Can you tell us anything, in any way shape or form, will Vision return? Are you going to return in the MCU,” the fan asks.
This is usually the part where an actor would deflect, saying something about how they can’t spoil future projects. That’s not the route Bettany took. The actor seemed nervous as he slowly answered the question. “Uh……yeah,” Bettany cautiously says. The audience erupted in applause.
“Why wouldn’t I? Yes, 100%,” Bettany continues.
Bettany could be referring to the rumored-but-unconfirmed Vision Quest TV series, a thematic sequel to WandaVision - complete with WandaVision head writer Jac Schaeefer. There have been reports about the show since 2021, including that development had gone as far as a writer's room before the WGA strike.
Although he didn't specify where or how he would return to the MCU, Bettany's nervous energy behind his answer indicates that he knows something. Maybe we’ll see Vision in a solo show, or the next Avengers movie, or perhaps something else. We’ll just have to wait and see.
