Which MonsterVerse movie is better? You told us, and its kind of surprising
Godzilla vs. Kong vs all the other movies and tv shows - who wins?
Popverse's top stories of the day
- Harley Quinn is making April Fools Day 2025 one to remember with a not-so-sweet-smelling DC comic book special
- Watch the D&D, Warhammer, Mega Man, and more anthology panel Secret Level from Prime Video, filmed at NYCC 2024
- Nintendo's long-time Mario voice actor reveals the secret behind voicing Mario's Dad in the movie (and how it goes back to his original audition decades ago)
Godzilla is the king of monsters, but the possibility of him being dethroned is what has fostered an entire franchise of movies and TV shows known as the MonsterVerse. Be it Mothra, King Kong, us pesky humans, or something else, the seven MonsterVerse movies and TV shows over the past decade have posed that question - and we've all paid hard money to find out the answer.
With Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire coming out in theaters, we asked you to vote for your favorite MonsterVerse project and your answer was surprising. With over 1900 votes tallied of writing this, the winner was is the most recent movie, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire - narrowly beating out the Skull Island animated series.
THe least favorite? 2019's Kong: Skull Island movie, and the recent Apple TV+ Monarch show.
We're keeping the MonsterVerse poll up for awhile yet, so there's still time to tell us which one you think is the best.
Whichever giant monster is your favorite, Popverse has you covered. We have a guide to Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire's ending (and what it means for the broader MonsterVerse), as well as watch orders for both Legendary's MonsterVerse and Godzilla's overall movies, as well as why Godzilla Minus One left theaters early (and why New Empire could be to blame!), and if you're a Popverse premium member, a New York Comic Con-exclusive interview with the cast and crew of Legendary's kaiju-hunting drama Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.
