For those whose cinema experiences have been primarily shaped across the past decade or so, 2024 is going to be a strange year at the multiplex, with only one Marvel movie, and one DC release... and that one is a sequel to 2019's R-rated, superhero-free Joker. The rhythms that have dominated the moviegoing calendar for the last few years are very off, to say the least.

And yet, there’s still a lot to see at the movies over the next 12 months, with everything from Godzilla to Beetlejuice returning to theaters — as well as the Ghostbusters, Deadpool, Joker, Dune, the Planet of the Apes, and even the Lord of the Rings, all following suit. That’s not to say there’s nothing new on the cards, with Matthew Vaughn’s Argylle bringing a new look to the spy game, and a beloved Broadway favorite finally making it to the screen with Wicked: Part One. The lack of superhero movies dominating the screen might, in fact, end up being a good thing.

With all of this in mind, we thought we’d ask: which of the big 2024 movies are you most looking forward to?We’ve offered 20 possibilities below for you to choose from — well, 19, really, with an open spot left for you to choose a movie that’s not on the list. (There are plenty to choose from, in that case: personally, I’m very curious about the Nosferatu remake that feels like the least likely holiday hit imaginable.) Take a look at the poll below and let us know what’s really standing out when it comes to 2024’s cinematic offerings.
