Could Klaw claw his way back to the MCU? If Andy Serkis has his way, 100%
In the MCU, death isn’t always the end.
Popverse's top stories of the day
- Peter Pan is finally growing up in new sequel called The Last Boy - but he is fighting it all the way
- Once Upon a Time's Lana Parrilla, Sean Maguire, & Rebecca Mader are coming to ECCC 2025!
- Star Wars' John Boyega is coming to Chicago's C2E2 2025
In 2018 Ulysses Klaw was murdered by Killmonger, but that doesn’t mean his story is over. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a world of alternate timelines, time travel, magic, and clones. Klaw might be dead, but that doesn’t mean we won’t see him again. In fact, Klaw actor Andy Serkis is hoping to get another chance at playing the character.
During a spotlight panel at ACE Superhero Comic Con 2024, Serkis was asked if he would be up for resurrecting Klaw.
“100%! Let me tell you something. In one year, Caesar died, Ulysses Klaw died, and Snoke died. It was like, what has the universe got against me at this point? Where are we going wrong? Why does everyone want to kill the characters I’m creating?”
Serkis then recalled the excitement he had when he first read Ryan Coogler and Joe Robert Cole’s Black Panther screenplay.
“Ulysses is definitely in there. It was one of those where I was turning the pages in the script going, ‘This is going great, I love this – WHA!!!’”
Needless to say, he was shocked to find out his character died. However, that hasn’t stopped him from playing the villain again. Serkis voiced Klaw on an episode of the Disney+ series What If…?, which was set in an alternate timeline.
Marvel, take note – Andy Serkis wants to play Klaw again. Serkis is a Hollywood treasure, and he is offering his services to you. Don’t forget, Klaw played a big role in the original Secret Wars comics. Perhaps we’ll see him again in the 2027 film Avengers: Secret Wars. Maybe we’ll even see him in his classic costume.
