Alan Cumming's Nightcrawler makeup for Avengers: Doomsday takes 1/3 of the time it did for X2: X-Men United
Alan Cumming's Nightcrawler makeup practically BAMFs into existence for Avengers: Doomsday in comparison to X2

There are a lot of blue mutants within the world of X-Men, and Nightcrawler is proudly one of them. Alan Cumming's Nightcrawler stunned audiences when he first came onscreen in X2: X-Men United. Who could forget that scene where he races through the White House to carry out an assassination attempt? Iconic, we say!
However, the process of being transformed into Kurt Wagner for the Fox X-Men films was no easy task. Luckily, for Cumming, things are much breezier this time around in Avengers: Doomsday. To Variety, he said, "I've had some makeup tests already for the role, but what's great about it was that before it was about four and a half hours to apply it, but now it's only 90 minutes."
I now feel like I have no excuse to take as long as I do to get myself ready in the morning. If the makeup artists for Avengers: Doomsday can transform Alan Cumming into a blue-skinned, three fingered German mutant with a prehensile tail in 90 minutes, then surely I can make myself look more human in less time.
Now, let's hope that Cumming looks every bit as good in Doomsday as he did in X2. And let's also hope that Marvel Studios has plans to give us beardy Nightcrawler à la Legion of X by Si Spurrier and Jan Bazaldua.
