The world has been waiting patiently to see who is going to save us from Robert Downey Jr.’s MCU reprisal as Doctor Doom. We know the villain of Avengers: Doomsday, of course, but what about the team of Avengers expected to save us all? Marvel finally put us out of our misery by giving the longest cast reveal in history. (Really; it lasted more than five hours.) Now we finally know who is in the Avengers: Doomsday and who hasn’t been announced – yet.

Marvel took to social media to announce a host of names for the Avengers: Doomsday cast, revealing a new name approximately every 15 minutes by adding a new chair to the studio lot. The first one that was revealed was Chris Hemsworth as Thor, then Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman from 2025’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps. But, in addition to the notable names returning to the big MCU crossover event, there were some interesting names not part of the announcement.

Here are the big names that weren’t part of the casting announcement for Avengers: Doomsday:

  • Chris Evans as Captain America/Steve Rogers
  • Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
  • Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk
  • Scarlet Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow
  • Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter
  • Harrison Ford as Thunderbolt Ross
  • Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange
  • Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord
  • Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury
  • Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross
  • Tatiana Maslany as She-Hulk

Of course, this doesn’t mean that these people won’t be in Avengers: Doomsday; it just means that they weren’t part of this announcement. For example, Chris Evans has said that he is happily retired from the role of Captain America, but there have been plenty of rumors about his involvement in this movie. The multiverse is a big place, after all.
