Don't expect to see Halle Berry to join the X-Men as Storm in Avengers: Doomsday
Halle Berry has confirmed that she will not be returning to her X-Men role as Storm in Avengers: Doomsday

If you sat through Marvel Studios's 5 hour livestream that unveiled the cast of Avengers: Doomsday, you may have noticed that Halle Berry's name was nowhere to be found among the long line of chairs featured in the stream. In contrast to her fellow X-Men, like Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Kelsey Grammer, Rebecca Romijn, Alan Cumming, and James Marsden, Halle Berry will not be suiting up once again to join the fight against Doctor Doom. A bummer!
At CinemaCon, Black Girl Nerds asked Berry if fans can expect to see her name on a chair for Avengers: Doomsday. "Keep waiting," Berry said, "It's not going to be there."
Berry isn't the only Marvel actor left out of the Avengers: Doomsday cast. You might remember that at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, a title card promised that "the legendary Star-Lord will return." But Chris Pratt's name was nowhere to be seen in the Doomsday live stream. The actor addressed this in an interview with Collider, saying, “They must have cut away from it. I don’t know what happened. I don’t know. It was there. I’m sure it was there.”
So who knows what the fate of Storm and Star-Lord will be in the MCU's future. Just because Halle Berry isn't there doesn't mean that Storm's younger counterpart, Alexandra Shipp, couldn't also show up. Just like Ms. Berry said, we'll just have to keep waiting.
