Here’s everything we know about Marvel Studios’ Blade

The Daywalker has been promised in the Marvel Cinematic Universe; here’s what we know so far.

Into each generation, a Daywalker is born. But in the case of the the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s incarnation of Blade, the movie has been a long time coming. Here’s everything we currently know about the upcoming Marvel Studios adaptation of Blade.

Who is in the cast for the Marvel Studios incarnation of Blade?

So far, only two cast members have been announced for Blade. They are:

  • Mahershala Ali as Eric Brooks/Blade
  • Mia Goth as Lilith

Who is working behind the camera on Blade?

Originally, Stacy Osei-Kuffour was announced as the sole writer on the movie. Subsequently, Michael Starrbury was added. Next Nic Pizzolatto joined, but was subsequently replaced by Michael Green. Now Eric Pearson has taken over for Green.

Meanwhile, the movie was originally to be directed by Bassam Tariq. Tariq was replaced by Yann Demange, who subsequently departed from the movie as well.

But didn’t Wesley Snipes already reprise the role of Blade in the MCU?

Technically, yes. Snipes reprised the role of Blade in 2024’s Deadpool and Wolverine. However, he was playing an alternate timeline variant of the character, as first seen in New Line Cinema’s 1998 Blade adaptation. Nevertheless, he did have a line of dialogue that leaned on the fourth wall by saying he was the only Blade (and always would be).

Has Blade otherwise appeared in the MCU already?

In the end credits scene for 2021’s Eternals, Ali provided an off-screen line of dialogue for Blade.

When is the Blade release date?

Currently, Blade is scheduled to debut in theaters on November 7, 2025. Will you be braving the vampire-overrun streets to see it when it arrives?
