Marvel Studios "still committed" to bringing Mahershala Ali's Blade to the MCU, according to Kevin Feige himself
Feige didn't provide much more of an update for Blade, but insisted the public was "up to date" with everything.

When word dropped recently that the MCU Blade film had lost its 2025 release date (considering that they hadn’t started filming yet, we weren’t really surprised), it seems like everyone started assuming that the Marvel Studios was going to drop the project entirely. Five years into production and they didn’t have a director or a script – surely it was canned, right? Well, Kevin Feige recently spoke about why that isn’t exactly the case and insisted that we would see Mahershala Ali’s Blade on screen eventually.
Blade seems like the one film that Marvel Studios can’t quite get its head around, with numerous (and often frustrating) postponements to its production schedule. However, Kevin Feige spoke at D23 Brazil about the film’s status, offering a more positive outlook than most people expected. “We are committed to Blade. We love the character. We love Mahershala’s version of him.”
As for why the film is taking so long to get off the ground, Feige was a bit more tight-lipped. “And rest assured: whenever we change direction with a project or are still trying to understand how it fits into our agenda, we inform the public. You guys are up to date with what’s going on. But I can say that the character will indeed arrive in the MCU.”
So, Marvel is still “committed” to their version of Blade, though we have no idea how long it will take or what form it will be in. How long will Mahershala Ali stick around in a role that so far has only amounted to a brief voiceover in Eternals and a punchline in Deadpool & Wolverine? How much money is Marvel Studios willing to put into multiple restarts of a Blade film? Not even the great Kevin Feige can answer that, it seems.
