Captain America: Brave New World release date - When Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford's MCU movie hits theaters

Harrison Ford as Red Hulk will be a sight to behold

Marvel Studios has taken a more sparse approach with their projects as of late, moving away from announcing and releasing dozens of projects within a short timespan. This is partly why Captain America: Brave New World is one of the most anticipated releases for the MCU in recent memory. In The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, we saw Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson reckon with a world without Steve Rogers' Captain America. By the end of the miniseries, Wilson had officially taken up the shield. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was released in early 2021, so there's been a considerable amount of build-up for Mackie's first solo Captain America film.

Luckily, we won't have to wait much more. At the moment, Captain America: Brave New World is slated to be released on February 14, 2025, in theaters. The cast recently appeared at San Diego Comic-Con to promote the film, with Harrison Ford humorously "Hulking out" onstage, alluding to his role as Red Hulk in the film.

Captain America: Brave New World marks Ford's first MCU role, and he is joined by good company. Giancarlo Esposito plays Sidewinder, while Tim Blake Nelson makes his long-awaited return to the MCU as The Leader. Nelson was last seen in The Incredible Hulk, the Edward Norton film that came out all the way back in 2008. The MCU, and the world at large, has changed considerably since Nelson was last seen onscreen. So here's to hoping that the O Brother, Where Art Thou? actor gets a warm welcome back when Captain America: Brave New World opens early next year.

Captain America: Brave New World will release in theaters on February 14, 2025.
