Amazon is fully in the Henry Cavill business now after buying the movie rights to Highlander
Henry Cavill is still set to make a Warhammer 40K television show with Amazon, beyond the Highlander remake

Good news for all of us who love seeing Henry Cavill swinging melee weapons around: the Highlander remake is still alive. However, the rights to the movie franchise will land in Amazon's hands, but at least it will be helmed by the architect of the John Wick franchise, veteran director Chad Stahelski.
As reported by Deadline, Amazon's MGM Studios and their subsidiary, United Artists, plus Scott Stuber are in "final negotiations" for the Highlander movie franchise rights. While I was dubious about any studio remaking a movie where Clancy Brown gives an all-time Most Deranged Movie Villain performance, Cavill's love of fantasy-related media has my interest piqued. I don't exactly have a dog in this fight, but as a person who enjoys well-told stories, the combination of Stahelski as director and Cavill as a leading man gives this some promise.
Maybe it's sacrilegious to say this, but I buy Cavill as a centuries-old warrior from the Scottish Highlands far more than I do for Christopher Lambert, whose accent in the original Highlander is all over the place. No hate to Lambert, but he just looked like A Guy. Cavill has already proved that he can nail Geralt of Rivia's grunting and growling in Netflix's Witcher adaptation. Who knows what else he's capable of?
It seems that Amazon is keen on developing projects with Cavill in a major role. The company's Prime Video is developing a Warhammer 40,0000 show, based on the popular and intricate tabletop game. In the interim, I will be taking the time to learn how to actually play Warhammer 40K, and I suspect that I'm going to need all the time I can get.
