Everyone needs a vacation sometimes – even the things that go bump in the night. When some of the most iconic monsters in cinema history decide to get away from pesky humans, they head to Hotel Transylvania. Following the adventures of Count Dracula and his daughter Mavis, the simple concept of a hotel for monsters has spawned a billion-dollar film franchise, a television series, and multiple short films – and it doesn’t look like it is stopping yet.
Not only is the Hotel Transylvania series one of the most successful animated film franchises ever, but they are also the most financially successful Adam Sandler films ever. That is probably why Netflix is looking to get in on the spooky action with their own animated series based on the films due out in 2025. Here is how to watch every Hotel Transylvania film, series, and short, plus what is coming next for Dracula and his growing monster family.
Every Hotel Transylvania film and series in release order
After the first Hotel Transylvania film became a surprise hit, it wasn’t long before more movies were on the way. In total, there are four feature-length movies set in the Hotel Transylvania world. Between many of them are some short films and series featuring many of the characters from the movies. Here is every Hotel Transylvania movie and show in release order:

- Hotel Transylvania: The Series Season 1 (2017)

Where can I watch Hotel Transylvania?
The Hotel Transylvania movies are all available online, though not all in the same place. Currently, the first two Hotel Transylvania movies are available on Netflix. Hotel Transylvania: Transformania is available on Prime Video along with Hotel Transylvania: The Series. You can watch the short films for free on YouTube. That just leaves Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation in a sort of black hole – it is available to buy or rent digitally on Prime Video but isn’t available as part of a subscription service.
Why did Adam Sandler quit the Hotel Transylvania movies?
Despite being a major box office draw for decades, Hotel Transylvania is the highest-grossing franchise in Adam Sandler’s career, so it was odd to see that he didn’t come back for the fourth film in the series. The official reason why Sandler didn’t return for the fourth movie is “scheduling conflicts.” Brian Hull replaced him as Dracula in that movie, having played the character in the animated series already.
We still don’t know if Sandler will be back as Dracula in Motel Transylvania on Netflix. The series hasn’t released its cast list yet, but Sandler’s long-standing distribution deal with Netflix makes it possible he’ll don the fangs and cape once more.
