Amazon's James Bond taps longtime Spider-Man producer to plan next films

Amy Pascal, who will join Harry Potter producer David Heyman in leading the next crop of James Bond movies at Amazon, produced all of the Tom Holland Spider-Man films and much of Sony's Spider-Man universe

Will the Amazon's James Bond movies feature a high school-aged Bond? Or a bunch of James Bonds from different multiverses? Probably not, but if they did, they at least may have the guiding hand of someone who knows that territory. According to reports, Amazon is in talks with longtime Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal as one of the folks that will determine the plans for the next James Bond movies.

The new comes to us via Puck, who say Pascal is being considered alongside Harry Potter producer David Heyman (who produced the adaptations of J.K. Rowling's original novels and the Fantastic Beasts trilogy). If the still-unfinalized deal is made, Pascal would come into the Bond franchise with more Spider-Man experience than most Hollywood bigwigs would ever get the chance to earn. Pascal has shepherded in all of Tom Holland's MCU Spider-Man movies, as well as a healthy chunk of the Sony Spider-Man catalogue, including all of the Spider-Verse films and the Venom trilogy.

(Fun little aside here: Popverse reported a while ago that one Venom: The Last Dance scene was inspired by rumors of Tom Hardy being the next Bond. While not confirming those rumors in the least, this news certainly has conspiratorial film buffs turning heads in that direction.)

But even beyond her work in the Spider-Man universe, Pascal has chops that make her a pretty dependable choice for the next batch of James Bond films: that is, the previous batch of James Bond films.

Yes, Amy Pascal has producer credit on Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, and Skyfall, three out of five of the Daniel Craig Bond flicks. And with Skyfall, she's also part of the team that created Bond's first installment to reach a billion dollars at the box office.

Again, the deal between Amazon, Pascal, and Heyman is still not finalized as of this writing, so plans may change even before the next actor to play James Bond is announced. Still, we have to assume that both Tom Hardy and Tom Holland will be looking at their phones quite a bit in the coming days.

Spider-Man 4, which will also be produced by Amy Pascal, comes to theaters July 31, 2026.
